Just saw this and think it would be awesome on my Toz 17 as a pseudo mosin-sniper build. Has anyone tried or shot one of these? Is it worth the price, or is there something better? I would really love to have a german #1 reticule.

The modern bult Schvabe/VOMZ like you have pictured are one inch tubes forward so easier to figure out how to scope. Another current builder with the one inch tube is NPZ but it is two and a half times the price.

Be careful of the wartime and originals, they have a 26.5mm tube and really only fit their specific Mosi style fixtures.

I like these. Simple, big obvious reticle.
Good useably 3.5 power magnification and a fair eye relief.
Might be hard to get used to how they work though.
When you adjust the left/right or up/down, the reticle moves way from center.
The original Mosin mounts were mounted to the rifle and then the mount was shaved and shimmed until the boresighting was on, only then was the scope adjusted slightly.
If your mount system is square to boresight you're pretty well good to go.

I was being a #### and offered 70$ for a 90$ listing, and they actually accepted. Guess I have to get one after all! It'll either go on the toz as is, or maybe even my Mosin (that Ive yet to shoot) for a true Enemy at the Gates feel. Will update at the end of march when it gets here I guess....

Got it today, arrived Mar 3 and ordered Feb 17. How is the Belarusian post quicker than Canada post during wartime :D

I'm glad you guys gave me a heads up on how they work! I did the math, and on the 2" long mount I'm making for it, a .01" shim at the extreme end will result in a 10" change over 1800"/50y.

My buddy will 3D print me a proto, and if it works I will machine one out of Alu. Sadly my Mosin won't accept this scope, so it'll go on the Toz.

This glass is also MUCH brighter and clearer than the current Bushnell 4x20 "custom" on there now.

I got the mount printed and delivered, and now just waiting for a range day to "sight" it in with a bunch of pop can shims or stomething....let's see what happens.
