Any experience with steiner binos?

I have a set I bought new, same style, no complaints, I just use them for general stuff while I'm out, animals etc. If the price is right, I think they are a good value.

I bought a pair of steiner predator binos years ago when LGS had a 50% off sale on all steiner stuff. Very easy to focus in even with glasses on. Like them so well I got a compact pair for my bow hunting pack as well.

Steiner makes a great product, spend the model
and buy their military grade bino's
We have used Steiner's for decade's on the water

Agree 100%.
Two decades ago I had new 8x30mm Predator, after couple of years of light use all I could see was milk....
Friend of mine had the same experience.
I suspected plastic lenses....
Total garbage made by German Tasco!

I also owned the same 8x30 Predators you mention two decades ago and I agree they were junk. Not with the optical quality but the eyepiece assembly was very fragile and I had to send two pairs back for warranty. After the second time I complained and they replaced them with the 8x30 Nighthunter model, which sold for around $700 at the time. They were awesome, and still just as good as they were twenty years ago. That being said though I still do like Steiner binoculars and own 4 pairs. The thing with Steiner optics is they seem to have two or three tiers of quality. The higher end models are very good, the low end models some of which are very poorly made. I really like the porro prism models because of the sports/auto focus feature, once you focus the eyepieces you don’t need to refocus them, very handy when hunting in cold weather when wearing heavy gloves or mitts. The 7x50 Military/Marine are decent binos if you can get them for a good price.

I used them in the Army back in the 1990s. I hated them. Poor focus, blurry image. Steiner makes some nice scopes but I have no use for the binos supplied to the military. I have no idea what the military is using now but I am guessing the same POS binos from Steiner.

I have a set of predator 8x30. They are ok. I keep them in my truck. Not the best pair I’ve ever looked through but not the worst. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy them again, but I got a good deal on these ones.

i have the 8x30 military marine and they re great for the size they re ... but my eyes like nikon monarch atb 5 so they re not leica but not at the same price neither.

I have the 7x50 marine version. Great glass, zero issues at all. Recently went to Antarctica with them and they performed flawlessly.

I have a set of green 7x50 Stieners since 1986. Built like a tank. My go to binos for hunting and general glassing. Great for low light. Only wish it had some kind of gradical pattern for range finding. Go buy them, you can't go wrong
