Does anyone have any practical experience with this ammo - Challenger 12ga $7.5 Target Load International 24g, SKU 40057? Any cycling, FTF, patterning issues?

Thanks in advance.

A lot of over and unders (including several of mine) will pierce the primers on Challengers in the lower barrel. This is due to the Cheddite primers not being able to handle the oblique angle of the firing pin . Otherwise, Challengers shoot fine...

I myself have used Challenger 12 ga Target Load and Target Load Handicap with no issues but not the "International 24g" variety. I lifted a flat at the store and it seemed noticeably lighter in weight vs. other Challenger Target and Federal Top Gun.

24 grams is a hair under 7/8 oz in weight, the carton should feel lighter than standard 1 or 1 1/8 oz loads. Velocity is much higher . I've used and seen used thousands of rounds of Challenger ammo, in all temperatures and in many different guns. The only primer related problems have been on one or two well used Citoris which are notorious for light strike problems and if you have one of these guns you will have problems with some other ammo as well. Challenger is a go-to around here, very popular.

Not weird, yesterday I was shooting a bunch of old 12 gauge that I bought at auction, Imperial, Winchester, Canuck, Gevelot. The Gevelot plain stunk like crap. The others smelled the same as they did when I hunted ducks with dad many years ago. Shot many Challenger with zero issues.
