Any First production Long Branch No.4's--- 1941

I have a 1941 No.4 Mk. 1 but nearly as good looking as those in the pics. original sights and all but the front stock is no longer there and the rear butt stock is not original either, its gonna be a good deer rifle when Im done with it.

Here's my very early Long Branch. It has the butt disk, brass butt plate, hollow handle, no bayonette lugs, old style bolt. The serial number is EX2. This one is about as early as they get.

I think you would be farther ahead to sell it to a collector who wants to restore, due to it's relitive rareness you should get a bit of a premium, then buy another rifle that is allready fixed up for your purposes

As far as I know, unfired, no oil on it, the Canadian Military stamp on stock still looks like done on raw wood, 18L45xx. 1941 Mk4 No1, Birchwood stock.

How does one do the white fill?

So, does anyone have an answer to Forty4Forty's query about the white fill in?

For picture purposes, I'm told that aspirins rubbed into the markings work quite well.

I've been fortunate to have two '41 LBs. One is 2 groove and the other is 5groove.
Both in very good condition if you consider the hardships they went through.

I used acrylic paint, like from a craft store. If you want to remove it, Fantastik takes it off right away.

first time on sight have 1942 stamped below safty mk3 on flip up sight and where barrle joins sorry don,t no names. np .303 2.22 18.3 0r5 ton,s with B and 1 further up SUSSEX were clip goes XB and funny m or E serail last two i will X S61XX i got this gun from an 80 year old guy who didn,t or coun,t renew his lic. he got it in 1950. thanks any info be a help.
