I'm planning on getting my first revolver and I couldn't find any .357 mag and .38 spc ammo locally. Where do you get yours from?
Or do you mostly reload this type of ammo?
Commercial reloads are the way to go , if you can find some, Reloading 38 sp is quite reasonable, or use to be .
Don't worry to much about 357m till you practice with cheaper 38sp. is my suggestion.
I'm in the same boat as you. My range has (had...) .38 special. I ordered 2 boxes of .357 from RDSC and a local CGN member was kind enough to reach out and sell me a box from his inventory so I could make noise big big last weekend
.357 is almost impossible to find.
It's ridiculous, everyone has 9 and 40 by the boatload, would be nice if they ordered every now and then a box or 2 of 357mag. Discrimination I tell ya.
If you can track some down, 38sp especially, tends to be the cheap winchester crap.. I swear they mix their powder with charcoal or something, the crap is so dirty the entire tip of the gun, inside and out gets covered in thick soot after just a few rounds.
Try find 357mag Fiocchi if you can, used to be plenty, impossible now, after a box of 50 only the crown would be a bit dirty, stuff is super clean.
