any guys here have experence with Steyr Prohunters?

I agree with Hoyt's entire post...but I will add that, as a tradesman, a simple pair of pliers or other basic tool can take on a certain charm and appeal all its own if it fits you perfectly and performs its function exactly as you would wish it to. That's sort of the way I view my Steyr; I don't try to blind myself to its admittedly ugly, utilitarian appearance. However, after finding it in my hands on several occasions that unexpectedly became memorable ones, it has its own sentimental value to me, based on its history with me and its performance.

I agree. I prefer wood and bluing, but this Steyr sure fits me and shoots damn accurate that it is the becoming the bar to which I compare all other rifles.

Thanks for your detailed response, Greg.

Why am I thinking that a prohunter is as close as you ever came to a 19 YO cheerleader's breast? ;)

Caught!!! BUT I had several years in High School being told by ALL my friends what a '19 YO cheer leaders breast' was like... I am sure they were telling me the truth and I hung, wide eyed, on every word of their descriptions! Course I still rushed off to check out the National Geographic back issues in the library....searching for the pics taken by explorers in deepest darkest Africa! No wonder they wanted to 'colonize' the 'Dark Continent'!
