I’ll be picking up a new hunting rifle soon, But I’m stuck between two options:

Tikka T3x Superlite (6lbs) or the T3x Hunter (6.6lbs)

Whichever one I choose, it’ll be in 308. The cartridge is more than enough to meet my needs and has been my go to anyways. I really like the wood look on the hunter, but the Superlite (the Camo ceracoat version) is pretty attractive too. It also comes with 5 round mag (instead of 3 in the Hunter) and the brake (Which could be nice for target practice) and a thread protector for field use. The Hunter is ~$200 less though. Any of you more experienced guys have any input?

...I don’t generally do too much hiking around while hunting - generally use a blind or find a sport to run a call.

It’ll be used for Whitetail Deer, Moose, maybe Hogs.

I’ve got a nice Leupold 3-9 Firedot scope ready to go on whichever rifle I choose.
 
I've never needed a 5-shot magazine while hunting so don't really see that as a feature. Same thing with a muzzle brake on a .308. You say you don't hike much, so that 0.6lb weight reduction doesn't mean anything other than a harder to shoot rifle and slightly more recoil. You prefer the look of the Hunter and can save $200 by going with it.

Seems like an easy choice to me; go with the cheaper one that you like more. Spend that $200 on a nice set of rings and a case of beer.
 
I’m always torn between wood and synthetic stocks. I like the look and feel of wood, but prefer the durability / imperiousness to the elements of synthetics. WAY more of my hunting rifles are synthetic than wood. It’s not to say wood can’t take abuse and handle the elements, it just won’t do it as well as synthetic. Aesthetically I vote for the hunter. Practically I vote for the superlite. I’ve always been more geared towards function over form.

I checked their website. What an impressive range of models. They are both fine rifles. I would choose the Hunter because of the price, wood stock for pride of ownership (personal opinion), flat bottom stock for easy handcarrry. The weight difference is meaningless. Great choice in cartridge too.
 
5 round mags are a pain in the hand if you carry the rifle one-handed. If you sling it, not as big of concern. I have more synthetic/stainless than not. The regular stainless model is cheaper then the ceracoated one.
