This is for the Glock17 but could also apply as a general question. I want to put a scope on the pistol and I found that there is rail attachment that allow me to mount a scope on top of the slide. I never own a holster. Not really need one as my current range won't allow it. My friend is trying to get me into doing competition training with him so this is just a curious question related to that (I dont' see myself as competition material in the first place...). It seems to me when you mount something on the front bottom rail you won't be able to fit the pistol on most holster. So for guns that doesn't have a top rail it is better to get a mod for mounting like the Glock Mos versions?
Btw, is there competition for 22lr in Canada (west coast)? I might be interested in 22lr. If they exist, what kinda gear requirement do you need to enter them? Is there newbie class for people to train up in friend competitions? Or are they very tough cut-throat like environment?
