hi all, i replaced a broken ejector on my 1911, now that its all reassembled i put a mag of snapcaps in to test it, the first 3 pop out no problem but the 4th one gets hung up, tried it a few times & it keeps happeneing, any ideas on whats causing this? lil nervous to hit the range with it so thought i’d ask you fine folks first thanks in advance!

If they are plastic caps the rim might just be tore up a bit. Why not go try shooting it and see what happens. I suspect you will be just fine.

Is it always the 4th round that hangs up? Could it be the Snap cap causing the issue? What does the rim on the snap cap look like? How are you cycling the action? manually? are you babying it, or are you trying to mimic a full power recoil when you rack it? I only have about a hundred more questions.

Ejectors don't affect chambers, so without knowing more about the history of the gun, I suspect the chamber is fine and the gun should be safe to fire.

Perhaps if you reload make a few dummy rounds and see how the gun reacts other than that the Ejector may need to be adjusted or actually replaced again

Wouldntit it be the extractor that’s holding the round? Could be the snap caps are just light enough that the extractor claw won’t let go without a little push from the next one coming up below it. The follower will not push enough for the round to clear the ejection port. This is why the first three work and he last one will not.
