Is there any consistent practice night in calgary for any of the shooting game disciplines?

Used to be an IPSC night at TSE every Monday during winters. Keep that in mind when you look for a new production gun. JR has helped out the local shooting community time and time again.

I believe one of the homestead ranges does. That's all I know of.

CDTSA has a speed challenge night for pistols (semi and revolver). I don't know the diff from other dsciplines but hear some complaints because it's not this or that. What it involves is fun. That's all we care about.

A few moons ago there was a defensive pistol league at TSE that used IDPA rules.
I think something similar may be run at CSC.

Both run by volunteer members within the respective clubs.

The CDTSA weekday pistol shoot is 'steel challenge' - all static on steel, so not really a 'skills and drills night'.
No movement and fire due to constraints of the range (CFO decision), no use of jacketed rounds on steel due to constraints on the steel.

As far as the BTSA, I think they run stuff week nights during the summer, but I understand due to their 'special' range use rules and time to get out there, participation can be hit or miss. They also have a couple of different programs going when they are not back-stabbing other shooters. :HR:

ive put in an email to TSE to see what they are doing these days.
the only thing at CSC that i have heard about is their NSR nights - which seems to be a bit more hardcore/clique'ish and not suite towards the newbie

NSR morphed to where it is from the DPL that was run at TSE. The style of shooting is not suited to new shooters and quite frankly, can put off other recreational shooters. It is what it is though, and I haven't been involved with NSR so that is all I have to say on that subject.

I'd be supprised to learn that TSE doesn't have a DPL (defensive pistol league) or IDPA type of league night anymore.
The ATHL held a few IDPA matches over the winter in the past - I'd be supprised if they have discontinued those also.

Monday nights at BTSA was "skills and drills", not sure if it´s still going. Spring early summer we had 10-20 people but then that tapered off. I tried twice in August and nobody showed. It´s volunteer run and summer is busy with matches so I can see why it falls to the side. I joined ATHL this summer and the matches are great, but I would be interested in more practice for IDPA.

no, you must have a BB. That was a deal.....

BB is not a holster course...it is more than that......

If one can shoot a level one match without a BB, why would they need one for a practice night?
I seem to recall new shooters welcome to the IPSC Mondays, but I may well be mistaken.
