Flat base with open lead bases. They obdurate to fit any bore diameter and really turn some of the old Lee Enfields into seriously accurate shooters.

OP, you and your friend really need to do some due diligence. It all looks good at first until you start crunching numbers. If I recall, NRCAN requires five thousand rounds for testing alone. This doesn't include permit applications.

Mind you, again if memory serves you can cross the border and with proper BATF clearance you can bring up to five thousand rounds back with you each time. Could be a good way to do things.

Yes. ERD will recognize (but not necessarily accept) test results from BAM Germany, Ineris France, and the UK HSE. Since the US is a free-for-all and lacks any sort of explosives testing and approval agency, there is no equivalency. ERD recognizes US DOT ratings for transport classifications only.

The guys friend is already an ammo maker, so I'm thinking he already has all the stuff to do it and would just do up a bunch to ship up here. I really hope this happens, but I'm not holding my breath if they haven't already started down the road of getting it approved for sale in Canada through NR Can though.

I feel like this is going to turn into one of those "look at the new guns we are bringing in threads" before they have even shipped one to the RCMP to get it approved and it takes years from the announcement to come, if it ever does...

I'm thinking he would find it hard to keep up with shipments of 500,000 rounds at a time if less than $1/round of good quality ammo with flat based bullets !

But.... My gut tells me it ain't gonna happen. At least not at the quoted price.
Canadian dollar is below $0.80 to the greenback. Almost every site sponsor here is posting about price increases.

No I am not interested in cheap ammo, I prefer to buy it of the EE at twice the cost as it's worth. - if something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
