Any interest in some AR500 targets in the Edmonton area? - Updated!

I'm building a plate rack and some poppers, and after shooting holes in mild steel I've decided to order some 3/8" hardened plate. Due to the economy of scale, the more material I buy - the cheaper it gets.

I need to order at least one 4x8 sheet, which is much more material than I need. Would anybody be interested in some gongs, or knockdowns? I'm not interested in building a bunch of mechanisms (dueling trees, etc), but while I'm having a sheet hydro cut I can make whatever shapes people are interested in. I live just south of edmonton, I could drop the pieces off somewhere close. Anyone who has priced out steel targets knows how expensive shipping is. Also, if there's enough interest, 2 or 3 sheets could be stacked up and cut at the same time - saving $$$.

I'm just trying to gauge interest, I'm not taking orders yet. If there's enough interest I can start getting an idea of cost. If you're interested speak up, or send a PM.

Definitely interested, provided the cuts are definitely going to be made with waterjet. Do you have this worked out already? Holes for mounting hardware?

I'd want some smaller gongs, like arcticcathonda.

I'll mention this thread to some others, but maybe it makes sense to also cross post in both the Precision and Handgun forums. If that's still following the rules...

It will definitely be watercut, I'm just waiting on some quotes for processing. I can have holes for hardware added while the pieces are being cut. Any preference on round vs square gongs?

I'd be interested too. Square or rectangular with holes for mounting. One or two plates depending on sizes and costing. Roughly 12 inch or slightly larger. Maybe a smaller plate too.

Wondering how much 6" plates would be? Square or round.

Any idea of how to build a cheap pull-to-reset plate rack?

Not sure about prices yet, but I'll know more in the next few days. I've looked at different ideas for a resetting plate rack, none of which were simple or inexpensive. If there was enough interest I might look at building a handful of them.

First things first though - I'll get materials pinned down.

I am looking for some AR500 target too. If the price is reasonable. I will take some 8", 12" and 16". I also live near south.edmonton. so I can pick up no problem. Also, i am with CHAS club. will beat the range from time to time.

My club is looking into new targets, I'm sure I could sway them to buy a 10" and 12" square target pending the cost isn't too high. If they don't buy, I'll gladly buy one (12") for the cottage when I go up in the summer for bush shooting.

Would need mounting holes as well.

Where are you located?

I'm in Central Alberta. Cost of shipping might be a deal breaker if you're from out east. I know it was for me when I was looking for them. I'll keep you in the loop though, I'm determining the feasibility of manufacturing targets for commercial sale.

So, it's obvious there's some interest. I've also recieved a number of PMs in response to this thread. I'm still waiting on proposals for watercutting, but right now it looks like I'll go ahead with this. I'll keep everyone updated on progress with this thread. Thanks for all the input.
