Any interest on an East Coast M-14 clinic?

outside

Brings back youthful memories of dropping motorcycle parts in a gravel driveway when working on the engine, the ones I managed to find had sand on them, that was as good as it got...

But I really would like to see this happen, thanks for showing initiative

Venue? A simple classroom or clubhouse open are. 8' long tables will accomodate about 3 M14 lovers with their rifles and kit spread out. So if your physical space/ classroom/clubhouse can seat about 8 to 10 tables, then we got some potential.

Open space with large workbench would be sweet. In Edmonton , Spruce Grove GC, we had a quonset to play under... there, Sosa backed up a welding/service truck. This truck had a large vise that we used to re-barrel several M14's and an M1 garand or 2. This truck also had a welding unit mounted on top, I believe.

So it's just a matter of what resources the local people can round up. In Burlington this coming weekend, we don't have a welder or large bench vise, so re-barreling is out of the question, just like the 19 Jan 2009 Barrie Clinic. :D

Hope this helps...

Wow. I'd love to attend. I wonder if our AMA indoor range would be big enough for the event? I don't know if the board would charge us rent or offer it up for free. Navy Shooter knows the facility if I'm not mistaken.

That aside, I need to know when you'd be coming so I can deconflict it with my army part time job. I've been working on my M14, even got the damn flash reducer off by myself, but I still have more questions than answers I can figure out for myself.

Can any of the Halifax guys source a place for the M14 clinic??

Since I started the boulder rolling, any of the Halifax boys have any ideas on where to run a M-14 clinic?? Would Navy Shooter be willing to help out??? Workshop and close by gunrange would be great. Let's at least try to get something going!!

I'm investigating if AMA (club website link is below in my sig) could host it at our indoor range in Dartmouth. Perhaps if the weather turned out good, we could move to the outdoor range (about 1/2 hour away) on Sunday afternoon to test fire. I don't think our indoor range's backstop can handle .308 so we couldn't shoot the rifles there.

How many people would typically attend one of these things? I think we could set up about 8 or so six foot tables at least at AMA's range/club house training room. We could make more room if we set up tables on the range itself or downstairs.

It doesn't have to be AMA. It doesn't even have to be Halifax. Anything within a reasonable drive (e.g. Moncton) would work for me.

Ok,

Last time we had an M-14 clinic in NS, I ran it at NSRA's 100m outdoor range. Had about 6 of 10 people attend. A good time was had by all, and it was very informative for those who did attend.

I am now the rifle directer at AMA, as such, Fusilier and myself (mostly Fus) have received permission to book AMA's indoor range facility for the event. (Cost involved.)

I am on a military course this week and am not properly able to handle details due to limited time/availability this week and will followup on this the first of next week.

What we will need.

1. Firm commitment for those wishing to attend.

2. Willingness to pay a deposit to cover Hungrys costs, and the cost of the range facilities.

I will have to discuss with Hungry and Fus what these costs will involve, and that will happen next week.

Bear in mind. We must pay for Hungry's entire weekend in Halifax. Hotel accomodations, transport, range facilities, etc.

If you are seriously interested in helping to foot his costs, post a response in this thread, and we will follow up ASAP.

Hungry here: well we don't have to worry about transport and accomodations since I bunk out with the pointman who also drives me around, but the costs for the pointman and club rental are borne by the $ 35 fees. Just like all the other clinics in Ont, MB, AB and BC.
Trust me, not losing yer #### is worth the $ 35.
;)

I have attended one of his lectures, and it is VERY WORTHWHILE.

If we can get the people intersted/and coming, we'll have a great time, and learn HUGE amounts.

More to follow.

Dumb remark.... now have a look at the Calgary Clinic... I've got over 15 people signed up overnight... or in a space of 12 hrs. That's why it's so easy to run a clinic in both Calgary and Edmonchuk. Gotta ensure they don't lose their dicks.... ;) This morning I woke up to 3 EMT deposits. Holy crap... Savage is doing a great job talking it up out there....

I am in

Times and dates and cost and me and a buddy will come over from PEI.

clinic

I will commit depending on when it is held. Life is busy so would have to know the dates to be 100% however I am local and have no issue with paying up front.
