I picked the 16" with open sights....the girlfriend thinks it would be just perfect for her.

I'm waiting until the "Savage Bush Carbine" bolt action rifle is actually in stock at CanAm in Canada before I order.

To some anti-gun activist in the RCMP firearms lab that gun has gotta be the spittin image of an M-16 except for a few minor details.

I dunno.......it'd take 2 Firearms Design Engineers, 5 Master gunsmiths, 3 Machinists, 4 expert arc welders with a $50,000 computer assisted lathe only 3 months to convert it to fully automatic.

I feel much safer knowing our Mounties are not allowing that kinda stuff into Canada for the sole reason of public safety.

All sarcasm aside......the rifle will sell itself...........it already has as far as I'm concerned.

All that needs to happen is for it to appear on the CanAm website & my order is going in.

I'm only interested in a 16"-16.5", I already have a 20" .308 that could be cut to 18.5".

This would make a great Rifle for the Canadian Rangers, I definately would buy one if it had a 16" barrel and a 10 round detachable mag.

I already have a Savage built CIL bolt carbine with 18.5 " bbl and in the good old .30-30 chambering with a detachable box mag. It IS a bush carbine.

I think this is what Can DOwn was asking for, the top rifle is the original 20" version the bottom rifle is an approximation of a 16.5" barrel.

I hope that Can Am bring this one in, the area I hunt in is mainly bush and a nice short rifle in .308 would be awesome!

I Love It, and would buy it in a Heart Beat.If the stock could be shortened some,so much the better.....if not, I would do it myself.

A 16 inch (normally unobtainable) in 308 with xs type peep sights (and a lefty version for my hampered friends as well) Im in for 1 right and 1 left at least if $350-400
