Any interet in a railed dust cover a la kwikrail for the SKS ? update post 22

if the dust cover mounted rail was a poor option due to the cover movement (not able to hold zero) then how will this one work? is it pinned to the rear sight similar to the magwedge?

edit: nevermind I see you got rid of the fingers in the dust cover so it can move up without locking into position (rear and out)
 
what i can says is my design should work , i still have to do some mods , i can probably put it 1/4 or 3/8 lower , have to reduce the wide of the see throw , hole spacing fit , because it plastic i reinforced it with some epoxy , i cycle it manually with some dummy round ejection is ok , ideally it would be nearly good to get some quote in aluminum , i may still do a test fire wit the rail on a couple of round to really check the ejection , but should be good

One thing I can't quite figure out is what's keeping the rear part of the dust cover from moving side to side? Vertically and lengthwise I can visualize, but I can't help but think that this is going to need the 1/4-20 bolt mod.

no need of the 1/4 bolt , under the dust cover in the rear i have small allen set screw to adjust to remove any loose it can go up or down , for right or left a very tight fit or i may mod a little bit my design and do something like the CZ dust cover rail adding some part on the side
 
Just curious but what advantages does this have over the full length rails already available? This design seems like it will cost quite a bit more to manufacture.
 
Since the two others are patent pending, i'd guess this is a way to avoid copycating

Nice work. There are pics of at least one of these homebrewed from Aluminum rail & the typical top cover scope base floating around on the net. Not sure what forum it was on but it looked great. The guy who did that one tapped his takedown lever hole all the way through & put in button head screws on either side to remove the slop.

You could do something similar without permanent modifications to the take down lever hole if you had a pin machined to a wringing fit with the two ends threaded.
