Any long range courses around Quebec or ontario?

I am intersted in shooting long range and maybe even get into some benchrest competitions, does anybody offer begginers courses in these disciplines around my areas?

The ORA (Ontario Rifle Association) holds introductory days to introduce people to the sport (long range competition), and I am sure could help you out;

I am not sure where your area is but as busta capp noted the ORA does indeed have a program set up to introduce folks into shooting long range.

"...benchrest competitions..." Totally different thing using a dedicated rifle. Talk to these guys about it. U.S. forum, but they'll tell you all about it.

Hi Elmer keep a eye on site Events & Gatherings. There will be a Introduction to F class shooting this spring at Connaught Ranges open to all no membership required, there will be a morning briefing on safety on range and then there will be shooting starting at 300m 500 & 600 and out to 900m. You will only have to bring your ammo and if you have speed { chrony's will be on site as well}and BC of bullets you are using. There will be members with all new electronic balistic calculators to get on Target at any ranges
.We tried to do a fall one but with hunting seasons etc we ran out of time.

how do you find out about these evens at cannaught? im interested too and possible want to join but can't find info on the clubs that use the range. is there a website or someone to contact?

Can I use any rifle I have or are there caliber limatations?

In short, max rifle calber is 8mm.

It might be a fun day to see how my 300 Weatherby performs! I'm already hooked on long range shooting (500 +/- meter "range" at my buddy's farm.) 900 would be awesome. Keep us posted.

I am very interested in this as well. I live in mid western ON would be nice to have something closer but if I have to drive to eastern ONT I would as well to give it a try.
