Just was wondering how the shell eject was working for you. Finally got mine out after converting to 17 Mach2 (not that the cal matters) and the shell mostly doesn't exit the action.

A known issue with the MAS 45 as I recall. Mine was the same (22LR).

Such poor performance from an otherwise nicely built gun. And to put in context- had my BRNO 22 alonfside and it punts the shells nicely. Any fixes for this? I'll do my searching. I think there is a smithing forum here too.

for the ejector to function properly on those the extractor has to hold the casing tight against the bolt face.
the ejector should fill the ejector grove in the bottom of the bolt.

Parts are very rare to find
I have a bunch of military surplus parts
The bolt kind of comes apart like a 98k mauser
Then after that there are a lot of MAS 45 specific parts
They kind to have to be fitted to work
There aren't any parts in Europe to speak of either

I own a Mauser ES350b single shot rifle.
The bolt body diameter of the MAS 45 appears a bit wider than mine. IIRC this was purposeful engineering in case the French authorities wanted to modify it into 22 vierling/22 hornet. Info from Jon Speeds book.

MAS 45 was made by Mauser
The French didn't modify anything because they are the same as the original German
The French used the mauser parts and stamped the Mauser 45 receivers with a small mas over top of
The Mauser marking until they ran out. Them they made their own with the MAS receiver marking
I have a few of the mas/ Mauser guns and the MAS guns
All of the parts are the same

I was mistaken. But there was a Model 46 for a very brief period of time. It's bolt was different and there weren't many of these made. Was the very last small bore Mauser.

the MAS 45 is a modified Mauser KKW action with a Mauser Mm410b magazine assembly. And Mauser ES350b barrel.
this was not manufactured before the French reopened the Mauser factory post-WWII.

This is alluded to in Jon Speeds book. However dates of change are a bit hard to pin down. It's an informative book but boy it jumps back and forth quite frequently.
One could hire a secretary to build a flow chart anytime the author plays back to the future.
Lol

How do you explain the Mauser over stamped with Small MAS?
I have a few of them, so mauser definitely made some
No one would go to the trouble of using Mauser, just stamp them MAS, like the French did in their product, when they ran out of receivers

the Mauser receivers were originally kkw receivers. When the French took control of the factory they converted them to Mas 45 specification to use up the parts they already had in stock at Mauser. they also made Mauser Mm410b with French serial #s and P38s.
