any Merkel R15 owners out there?

trying to figure out what scope mount goes on it. Says Remington 700 in the book but the rear rem 700 mount is flat. The top of the merkel receiver is round. I read Savage online but i checked the 10 mount and it doesn't look like the screws line up. What gives?

Any help is appreciated.

Use a Savage 'round action' type base. Sometimes it is called the savage accutrigger base. Savage 10's were flat at the back end at one time.
If a one piece base, of course you need to get the proper action length.
The Sauer 100xt uses the Rem 700 bases.
They both come from basically the same plant, so I dont know why it is like that, but that is what I used.

hey thanks! I really appreciate it. I was at the gun shop today trying on bases for quite a while and couldn't figure it out.

I picked one up in 7 mag but the snow will not stop so I havent shot it yet.

Id appriecate a range report as i may pick one up in 30/06 or 300wm if they shoot as good as a savage
