Hi!

I'll be looking for trapped muskrat carcasses from the spring trapping season. I need the meat, bones and organs NOT the fur.

If you know of a trapper that would want to get rid of the carcasses other than by wasting them in the trash, please contact me via pm.

Thanks

Yann

If memory serves me right the OP actually runs a a wildlife management business in Quebec... one of the main animals he deals with are beavers. With access to beaver carcass's I doubt he needs a muskrat carcass to lure in a bear.

He might need the carcass to bait something else though. Or maybe it's more convinient to haul up a smaller muskrat carcass through the bush then a beaver.

Inform us Rabadswompe...

P.S. If you got a beaver carcass for MY bear baiting needs I'll take it;)

To feed his falcon????

BINGO!

but not a falcon... a young goshawk that I reserved... trying to vary it's food intake during his growth period.

I think shooting is out of the question (lead in the meat will kill the bird).

And for those who asked.... muskrat tastes like beef liver. Tried it when I was working up in James Bay.

HEY Goose!!!!! long time my friend!

I pulled out of the wildlife management buiseness a while ago. focussed on my main job, my wife and my 1st home (major renos!!!) oh yeah, ands my falconry.

Beaver meat is too fat for me to use as raptor food i.e. not the type of quarry mom bird will feed her offspring. Leagally trapped squirrel, snared rabbits/hare...all good.
