Any news on Miroku?

Does anybody know how bad the Miroku plant was hit from the earthquake in Japan? I'm just wondering if they will still be manufacturing for Winchester or not. (I also hope nobody there was seriously hurt.)

Have not heard but just took delivery of a Davidson Special Winchester 1885 Highwall 45/70 a couple of weeks ago. Miroku all the way stem to stern apparently. They sure do nice work. Almost as nice as Brownings version.

Well then that would explain the close similarities. Wonder if the Brownings are like the Winchesters where parts fit all the old 100yr old guns.

From the mouth of Winchester themselves:

"Some Winchester historic guns are made at our partner factory Miroku, in Japan. Many have asked about the factory and the safety of the workers. The island where Miroku is located was not directly affected by the recent earthquake(s) and tsunamis. The thoughts and prayers of all of us at Winchester Repeating Arms go out to those farther north in Japan who have felt great loss and suffering from this disaster."
