Any news on the Tavor?

On TV on History or A&E they have a show called 'Future Weapons' (I think that's the title) in which they did a little blurb on the Tavor. According to the Israeli speaker, he said it is being adopted as the next main battle rifle. The new recuits will get training on the Tavor, while the vets will stay with the
M16 series for awhile yet.

So.......any new info on civilian sales?

The FN FS2000 got in, so as long as they manufacture a comercial version of the Tavor (semi-auto only), they will get in. A bullpup stock is only illegal if it is a separate stock (add on) that reduces the overall length of an existing firearm. As I understand it anyway!

I just sent another batch of paperwork tonight. Stay tuned. Saw that "future weapons" too. Made my finger itch! I have been getting a lot of calls and emails since it aired. We seem to have a decent market here, so it looks good.

Waiting for the IDF to give the OK. They haven't even got them as far as I know. Then we submit to the RCMP. I should have some samples soonish for you to drool over. We will likely ask for some kind of refundable deposit so the money guys know there is demand. Other than that it will be straightforward.

I was under the impression from cut away photos that it's a Galil placed into a 'bulpup stock' as opposed to a 'bulpup rifle' where the reciever is part of the stock.

Once again correct me if I'm thinking of a different rifle.

The Tavour had been issued to all Givate new recruits since this summer. Golani and Kfir will get'em by 2007 march from what I read.
