Just completed my rpal course and planning a purchase. The steyr L9-A1 intrigues me. I have researched online and two 5hings keep popping up: 1. Great trigger/ergonomics & extraction issues. At first in my research it appeared only some of the older M models had this issue but I am starting to see similar issue pop up about the L9A1. Would love some first hand experience commentary. All seem to agree it shoots like a dream. Thoughts?

I want one. But can't find an M version anywhere, shot a guys at silverdale the one time. Amazing recoil characteristics.

Heard things about the early M models extractors because the first couple batches brought into America weren't officially sold through steyr, they had different parts. If its for casual plinking its not a deal breaker for me, if it was for competition or protection (not here) then maybe it would turn me off.

I owned one and really quite liked it. Never had an issue at all.

I wasn't a huge fan of the sights. The only reason I sold is going full Glock with their part availability etc.

I have a M40A1 and had a L9A1. I sold the L9 as it didn't have the trapezoid sights, and with dot sights I greatly preferred the PPQ Navy for ergonomics and an excellent trigger. I suggest you consider the PPQ.

Currently shooting the M9A1 with Trap sights, absolute dream to use, only down fall is parts and accessories. How ever you can still find them if ya look hard enough. I would recommend.

Thanks for the responses. Parts and service availability is also a concern. If something goes awry I don't want to be out in the dark with a 1.5lb club. Keep the first hand experience coming.
