Any one ever put a red dot on a lever action?

I remember seeing an add somewhere of a stainless steel Marlin with an EOTech XPS or EXPS and magnifier on a short section of rail not too long ago. I though it'd be a good idea given the Holographic nature of the sight. Not sure how long one CR123A battery will last hunting at -30C though. I bet even an AA equipped Aimpoint (non-T1) with it's "million-billion" hour run time would have a problem with the battery dying at those temperatures. Anybody tried it?

you can put one on this monstrosity EWWWW

So I've been to the range a few times since adding a Vortex Sparc to my Marlin 336 and I'm really happy with it's performance. My average group at 100 yards has improved from about 4" with iron sights to about 2.5" with the Sparc, and my eyes are no longer struggling to focus on the sights and the target. It's also a lot quicker to get on target which is never a bad thing when you're hunting. Yesterday I was 3 for 3 on the 150 yard gong, aiming and shooting as quickly as possible. Did I mention I'm really happy with this setup? Can't wait for opening day!

1X prisms do it better 😀 Easier to pick up, etched reticle, more precise point of aim...

The latest generations are even better given the extended eye relief..... a guy or gal could mount it foreward of the receiver and keep the receiver area "trail carry" friendly..... :)
