any one have a reveiw on kimber mountain accent or subalpine

I've got a kimber mountain ascent 84L 270 win. I got it at River Sportsmen in Campbell River. It's a slimmed down M70 style action with a 3 position safety. Kimber are known to have excellent triggers and are easily adjusted. They have a blind magazine which helps to keep the weight down. My rifle weighs 5lb 3oz according to their website and that is with a 24" barrel. The fit and finish on my rifle is good, my rifle feeds well and has no issues. The first two groups with my reloads went .75" and .5" 3 shot groups and it shoots like that enough to keep me happy. My rifle isn't finicky, it will shoot several bullets well. The rifle balances just behind the front action screw. There's nothing I dislike about it except the price tag. I got a deal on mine, not sure if I would pay what they ask now. They're an absolute joy to carry. Precision Optics in Quenell is also a dealer. They also sell Barrett Fieldcraft rifles as well, they would also be worth considering. Good luck.

I have one in 280 AI, it's quickly becoming one of my favourite rifles. Very light and very accurate, I'm running hsndloads with a 140gr Accubond. Awesome gun for mountain hunting.

I have several Kimber Montana’s and an Ascent. Fit, finish, function, all top notch. All exceptionally accurate with handloads. (No idea what they would be like with factory, I don’t use it).

Personally, I wouldn’t buy another Ascent. I don’t see much difference between the Ascent and the Montana, other than some aesthetic barrel flutes, a fluted bolt, and a stock dip. Save the $1000 difference between the Montana and Ascent and put it towards glass.

Have 2 kimbers, Montana 3006 tackdriver, light and smooth as silk. Adirondack 308, tackdriver, even lighter and handier, silky smooth.
Will not go back to lugging heavy rifles around and it makes a huge difference in comfort when afield all day

I have a Kimber Hunter in 270Win. Everything on it is pretty much the same as the Ascent - same action, trigger. Barrel is different in that the Ascent is fluted? Also, different stock. I personally think you should adjust the trigger weight down and bed the action, which I did to the Hunter. Anyway, my Hunter nails the 8x8 gong at 500m regularly. No complaints.

I would recommend the Montana better value and not much weight difference, bolt is smoother due to not being grooved.
I have the Adirondack a Montana and two hunters and am happy with them all ,kelly

I have a subalpine 300 wsma nd a 6.5 CM montana on the way. I've also owned an adirondack and a talkeetna The old subalpine has been phased out. The current model is a mountain ascent with a different color scheme. I agree with the above I don't think the MA is worth nearly a grand over the montana. Even at the current price point I think they're the best lightweight rifle you can buy, terrific trigger/stock and all of mine shot well.

I have an Adirondack in 7mm-08. Shoots great, and a pleasure to carry. Just don't care for the grooved bolt. It cycles fine, but no doubt would be smoother if not grooved. I would trade off carrying the extra (minimal) weight of a non-grooved bolt, for smoother cycling if i could. Maybe over time if I work the action enough this will work itself out? I know this is the case with a couple lower end savages I purchased.
