any one hunting on Rokons this year

Argo's are heady on the coast but there slow the one made in the 80s sucked constantly breaking down newer ones are better
I would think for the money sumone living in dryer environments would be better off with a Rokon or ATV
I like the Rokon as its light it don't take up the entire truck bed so I can fit bike plus camp gear and moose or deer and no need for a trailer
 
I'd be happier if the OP posted "anyone using Rokons to get into and out of good hunting country this year" Hunting ON a off road vehicle is far too common where i hunt, feet seem to be used less and less, and the country is being ruined because of lazy hunters. As transportation, those bikes look pretty awesome. As a thing to hunt ON, not so much.
 
For me the lack of speed isn't really an issue as I'm never really going over 40km/hr while on the line anyways. Figure one of these would be great for getting deeper into the mixed old growth forests where I could extend my marten line. For sure these bikes are a bit overpriced but they do target a niche market so the people at Rokon know there are people that need and want this particular vehicle. Think I might take a road trip out to Port Hope as that appears to be where the closest dealer is to me.

I take my Rokon out picking pine mushrooms in deep moss you would never I was there one of the reasons I like the bike so much it don't Tear up to the ground like a conventional motorcycle or ATV
I have over 35 years experience working in the bush ,mining ,logging trapping
all those years I have never seen any hunters get out of ther trucks I would run into trappers mushroom pickers and prospectors in the bush but never a hunter more likely to run into hippies out on a hike .
But there's good reason for that most hunters have jobs and limited time to harvest their winter meet can't blame them lotsa guys look forward to hunting season all year and only get a couple days hunting

Trapping Rokon is amazing you can tie it to the side of a boat and Float it across a river
for Easy transporting and bushwhacking I don't think thers any thing better after a foot of snow your better off with a skidoo or ATV with tracks

Trapping preseason the Rokon is handy getting out baiting up Martin boxes cutting trail .
Forget about the one wheel trailer thay suck
your much better off pulling a sled on the ground behind the Rokon
I bin meaning to have a couple of hooks welded to the game rack that I can quickly attach two Pack frames to the sides of the bike instead of saddlebags should be able to pack out a moose in two trips with out a trailer if deboned just one trip
For the snare men a Narrow nimble machine is A godsend you can ride right up to your set make for a incredibly productive day
Trapping and commercial crabbing are quite similar the more traps you sett the more money you make

Would love to see someone packing a whole moose out of the bush on one of these bikes. Know what you mean about efficiency on the trapline too all about getting in quick, making the set and moving on to the next. After I have a safe and sturdy camp finished this fall, bring on the Rokon next Spring.

I would recommend you go with the Honda motor as it's quieter
Plus go with the smaller tires that are lower to the ground I have two bikes one with the larger wheels and one with the smaller wheels like the smaller
There's a Big difference how the bikes handles bushwhacking going over stuff the smaller wheels make the bike a lot more nimble and easier to handle
Bushwhacking you definitely want very little air in the tires
i've been told the winter studs can really be a big help getting over wet trees and branches I haven't tried them yet mite order sum tomorrow out of curiosity now that you have me thinking about it lol

I should mention you get really good gas mileage compared to ATVs and argo's
Running the bike hard on the logging roads I get eight to ten hours running time more than enough for a day on any trapline

Call the dealer there's one in Calgary and Prince George both options are available
If you can swing it ask for a test drive it is a little different riding a Rokon

I would think if your really into motorcross it might take a while to appreciate it
But if you're a guy like me with limited skills on a motorcycle and more into bushwhacking and hunting/trapping the Rokon makes you look awesome
Problem is With the Rokon is yo look at something you know you have no business attempting but wind up trying it just to see if you can do it or not Haahaa
I have done my share of somersaults and rolls on the bike even rolled a pick up truck over top of them all I had to do was upright the bike and let it sit for five minutes and let the oil settle back down and away I went
ATV are just not built tough enough for a guy like me I needed something tough and simple
