Any one know where i can get 12 gauge shotgun shells that are purple?

I know this is a strange one but me and the gf are getting married and she wants to make a thing the guys to wear that has a shell filled with flowers. i think she said its a boutonniere or somthing. the only problem is i need it to be purple. any idea of where i can get purple 12 gauge shells?

You could try tremclad spray paint. Or hobby paint from Micheal's.

The only purple shotgun shells I remember are the old Imperial shells, you would have to find them at a gun show which probably doesn't help you much. Your other choice would be a want to buy ad in the EE.

Fiocchi trap load hulls were a light purple. Maybe someone who reloads may still have some. Ad in the EE might work.

I have Sellier&bellot 12g slugs. The casing is clear. Easily paintable. Next time I go to the range you can have as many as you want.

Aren't 16ga hulls normally purple? All the ones I've seen are (all Federal) but they can be difficult to find. You can disassemble them with household tools so you don't need a 16ga shotgun to empty them (but that would be more enjoyable if you happen to have one ).

Yup. Most of the 16G shells I have are purple ( birdshot)

They are out there, I have not seen them on the shelf but maybe try one of the larger auction sites searching for the following:

Use plain white Cheddite hulls and dye them with grape Kool Aid mixed to a paste(kids dye their hair with it!), or try some Rit material dye.

Imperial 12GA 2 3/4" BB shot shells I had looong time ago, were purple.

Federal Premium Upland 16 gauge number 6 shot is a royal purple. This is the purple you want. Same as the number 8 above but has gold letterings. You could pick it up at any local firearms dealer.

these, imperial, and fiocchi are the only purple ive seen. those used to be in the 100 shell packs if i recall...
I also seen federal pink shells for breast cancer

I found a few 16 gauge shells I had from even I had an old 16 gauge sxs.... was interested to see what would happen, so donned my space suit and fired em in a 12 gauge Remington pump.... so if you find some 16 gauge federal shells, no doubt you could fire them to get them empty

Horrible velocity and pattern though....I wonder why? Lol
