Just looking for a starting point 69 ? Or 75 gr ?
Varget ??

If you have fooled with one let me know.

Have you tried lighter bullets ? Or factory ammo. ?

Really have limited loading experience with the 223. Ya I know behind in times lol

Thank you kindly.

I shoot 55gr VMAX in my T3 Varmint, almost exclusively.

best load I've found is 24.5 gr of AA2230 ( I think.. It's around that)... Awesome accuracy (0.4" ten round groups), but I rarely shoot over 300 yards. Can't help on the longer range loads!

Get- buy a good reloading manual..do your own load development with your chosen bullet.
Taking load from the internet is looking for trouble...

Its not exactly what you're looking for, but I do shoot a 1-8" .223 which happens to be a Gaillard barrelled Rem.

My load is 24 grains of Varget with the 80 grain Berger or SMK, or 25 grains of Varget with the 69 grain SMK. Both are 1 grain under the Hodgdons data, use Lapua brass and are seated to the lands.

i use 80 amax and 25.3gr varget. lapua brass br4s. 2980 fps .5 moa average. there are some 1/3 moas in there .

savage 12 f/tr 30in 1 in 7 twist

never tryed bergers yet

Jason;

In my Rem 40x with MacLennan 1:8 twist Heavy Palma contour barrel, I shoot 80 gr Sierra Match King and 82 gr. Berger, Varget powder and Fed205M primers. Seems to work real well for me.

varget and sierra 69 match, N133 and home brewed 68 grain flat base, varget and berger 80's

Biggest pain with the tikka was loading out to the lands and not being able to load the mag for the bullet sticking out a quarter inch past the mag follower, cured that with a benchrest stock and converting the rifle to single shot.

I found all of my accuracy nodes were small....so loading to .1 of a grain is going to work in your favor, my accuracy node was a little more wide spread over different charges of N133 powder.....ymmv

Ya they are short little bastard mags !! I have 2 222s one in a svarmint the other in a lite and same thing. To contact the lands forget it.

But yes I normally don't load the mag anyway on the bench. And if I do use for varmint I will seat them deeper and settle for less accuracy.

Thanks
