Any one with a grizzly mag.

Eddie, I don't know why but the forums keep clearing new posts, but I never saw your post :(

Any way now that I finally got my other mags I can show a side by side of the mag cut down that I did.

here the followers side by.

shows how much the two stick out. The one I cut down removes the bolt hold open feature. (which matters little to me)

the cut down follower stop in the mag with enough pressure to hold even a single shell securely.

follower stops. Cut in on either side enough to grab with a vice grip, bend and grind to fit, and clean and file.

oh and here is the chamfering I did with a die grinder.

seems to help need to send some 3" down range to see for sure.

Hopefully CanAm and Badboybeeson are watching this thread.
I see some product improvements and accessories in the making, good work guy's.
As for the mag tube I'd like to see a laser or flash light burried in there.

OOps I forgot to update this thread.

I got out a while a go and loaded up 3 mags with six 3" slugs each.

dropped one in the tube and slammed though all 19 rounds and not one problem. No FTF, No FTE. Just a sore shoulder (the folding stock is hard!)

The only problem I could notice with my modified mags is that since the follower does not stick up as far, the last shot could jam up a bit, not having it's ass end pushed up as much. But it is not all the time, amd might be from soft pumping.

a shake or re-pump is all that is need to clear it though.

Just did this to my mags today... you have to insert a 6 shell mag with the chamber open.. but other than that, it's sweet! Everyone should do it... Thanks for the thread!

Try trimming a little bit more. Not much.

As I mention a ways up in the thread, mine all can be loaded on a closed bolt.

Just don't take too much off, or the follower will stop short of holding the last shell.

Mine are cut so there is just enough tension to hold the last shot.

Good work with the Grizzly mags Dave. I have another suggestion on how you could possibly add another shell. What if you flattened the stop tabs on the magazine and cut the follower even shorter? It appears that the follower will stop at the top where the mag gets thinner. I'll have to inspect it closer, but it seems like it could work.

The longer it is, the more stable.
The obverse leaves you with an unstable platform to load, and unload from.

You might ruin the mag if you cut too much off.
