Any other lead for casting besides wheel weights?

My post #56 here pretty much sums my experience. You have 100% pure lead. I did mix my hospital lead 1 part hospital to 2 parts WW and did not get any leading in 38spl, 9MM, 40 cal, 45acp and 45Colt. I don't buy the hospital lead anymore because I get enough pure lead via the stick on WW. Right now the local Canadian Tire Store, where I get my WW's runs about 15% Zinc and Steel while the rest is good alloy.

To be any use for handgun bullets like 9MM or rifle I would think you are going to have to add a harder alloy to what you have.

I don’t know about your intended use, but personally, I don’t have a need/use for pure lead.... I tend to keep 3-400 # of it, just in case I need to soften a blend. But I know several fellas really into Black Powder (muzzle stuffers and BPCR), so when I find pure lead I pick it up and trade it to the fellas I know who use it pound 4 pound for their rendered WW (or other misc lead alloy) that they don’t have much use for.

1 to 1 ratio for handgun bullets.

Did you get any leading with 9MM. At 1:1 I think I could be convinced to use my stick on WW alloy which are pure lead and mix it with regular WW alloy to extend my regular WW alloy I have. I had no problems at 2 parts WW alloy to 1 part pure lead.
