I am looking to start casting for the .454 Casull. I will likely start out with the simple Lee 300grn but I am looking for suggestions on a 350grn mold with GC. Any suggestions on brand and sources? Should I alloy my lead any specific way? I am mostly sitting on wheel weights but I have some extra hard shot I can use to harden the WW further. Whatever I cast I want to push them right to max so I am guessing a quality lube will be necessary. Any insights are appreciated, I am still new to this...

With the Casuall you want as hard as you can get. I have used SPG ,RCBS and LYMAN orange magic. They all seem to work well. Also using the Lee bullet. Bullet was the only problem I had. If you can find Linotype and add to ww it works well 40/60.
Super Redhawk is my beast.

I picked up a SRH Toklat myself. I have only run Hornady through it so far. I figure their loads must be watered down because I have heard the Rugers are brutal for recoil and I didn't find it bad at all. If I can get my bullet situation squared away I can load it right to max and punish myself all I want...

I cast and shoot max 460 Mag lead loads. I use primarily Water Quinched direct from the mold Wheel Weights with 1/2 lb of tin for a 20 lb pot of COWW. BHN is around 22-24 when I’m done.

I tumble Lube with 45/45/10 then again after installing Hornady gas checks.

I use the well regarded Lee C452-300-rf mold and sized to .452 when installing the gas checks.

I get fantastic accuracy and zero leading out of my S&W V460. I’ve only shot it out to 10 yds but I can repeatedly get all 5 bullet holes touching.

454 Casul is the same pressures so I’d expect the same process would work for you.
