Any powders to drive 120gr TTSX in a 260 Rem to 3000fps?

I see that hodgdon reloading list 45.5 at 2968fps for a soft point. Am I good to go using the same data on the TTSX? I thought I read that the TTSX has to be down from regular loads?

Since the TTSX has the relief grooves, I have not seen any extra pressure signs from it than conventional C&C bullets.
Of course it is wise to start lower, and work up carefully. Dave.

When I looked at the Barnes loading data chart on line it appears most powders can only bring you to about 2850 FPS at a max. powder charge. I'd go with the Barnes chart before the Hodgdon for loading those copper pills because that's all they test with.

I'm at around 2850 right now with H4831SC, just interested if I can get these going a bit faster because TTSX'S work better at faster speeds.

Have you thought about using the TTSX 100 gr. bullets? That should get you there easily,,,,,,RL 17 brings you to 3200 FPS.

H4350 was my best powder in the 125 gr bullet range.

Nosler lists 3045 fps max with the 129 accubond long range with 45 grains of reloader 17 in the 260.

Reloader 17 would be my first choice, then Hodgdon H100V.

I emailed them to ask and they said min 2000 but 2200 was better. Anything above 2200 and you are good.

Why not use other bullets that are easier to drive faster than monos? After losing a few animals with them you'll quit them anyway....

I shoot a 6.5-284 so I get a bit more stank anyway, but currently if I was you I'd take a serious look at the new Accubond LR 129 grn at 3045fps from the Nosler data. And you have a bullet the functions at lower speed as well.

I noticed it before when I was looking for my -284 but there wasn't data for it yet, but there was for .260.

They are a really good bullet for shooting coyotes. Bullet diameter in and a small exit hole going out. I load my 120tsx with H-4350 and they do 2950 out of my 26" barrelled 260

May be you try 243 with 75 gr of any bullets.

I would not push the hunting rifles to their edges. Just play safe

Just out of curiousity, I had a squint at Barnes' site just to see what they recommended.

I noticed a 120 TTSX load @ 2963 out of 1 24" bbl. with Hodgdon Superformance.
