I was wondering if there was anyone working on a solution to the Type 97 and 97A's horrible mag release? With the number of importers about to increase and the price dropping I'm hoping that someone might be on this. To quote my initial post on the type 97:

...The primary negative point is the @#$@ mag release. To be compatible with the AR mags the mag release button (like on an AR) is on the right side of the gun. However it is not a smooth motion to activate it with the left hand.
To attempt to counter this I had hoped that it might be possible to install a Norgon Ambi-catch, but when I borrowed a friend's to see it was a no-go. The mag button is heavily staked in

and the dimensions of the 2 catches are completely different in length (Norgon on top of the 97A's mag catch):

LOL...all this gun needs is distribution in gun nutz hands. You wait to see all the cool stuf that will be available for it once it gets out there and people start tinkering. The rifle has a LOT of potential. Accessories could make it a real contender as a viable alternative to the AR15 that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It will sell well, as will accessories as people try to address it's few short comings.
