any reason NOT to use 300wm for long distance?

I read about it on the internet tho...

I had a tikka tac in 300wm.
Like is said in my original post, I much prefer the light recoiling 6.5x55 for high volume shooting, or for longer ranges the 338lm which provides a more substantial jump in ballistics performance over the 6.5.

300WM in a solid rig like my Savage BA110 fitted with a break can be sent downrange for hours with no discomfort. No hesitation to recommend it to you

300wm is good all rounder, heavy recoil and shorted barrel life. See if you can borrow someone's for a day and see how you like it. Some gun stores have range days see if yours does and make the best of it
