Looking to purchase my first waterfowl shotgun. Any tips or things to look for when buying your first gun?

I would shoulder as many as possible and find what points naturally! If it doesn’t fit you won’t shoot it well. Your budget will also be a determining factor. Spend some time at a club shooting some clays. Don’t buy a 3 1/2” gun either. Kick like a mule and don’t pattern well. Semis are softer shooting but generally 1 1/2-2X the price of a pump! Have fun and wear eye and ear protection!!
