Had one in 30-06 - very impressed.
Tikka like bolt lift and smooth action - very nice looking action
Feeding was flawless and the smoothest of any factory rifle tried so far.
Accuracy was decent with sub MOA potential
Trigger was very nice for a hunting rig
Forend is bendy but I opened it up so not an issue.
A touch of bedding just to make it all happy happy. The factory bedding is innovative but still sloppy.
Ejection is brisk
Very light with great balance.
Long action could be a pain with some scopes but that is pretty much the norm. Weaver bases did their job after the bolts were degreased and retorqued (again, nothing new here)
Larger allen head machine bolts. Not going to peen like a lot of factory action bolts. Will handle solid use
Mag works well but looks flimsy - didn't have any issues so maybe just me. Lock up was solid and QUIET.
My chamber was not perfectly true with the bolt face so case life would be short. For the average hunter, they wouldn't have a clue what I am talking about.
For the money and looking for a hunting rifle with good looks, function and practical accuracy, I pick the Ruger over the Axis.
When time and funds allow, I am going to rebarrel one and see how good this rig can be made. I think it will be a superb donor action for some nice custom hunting rifles. The mag, although well thought out, is not going to blend well with a high end stock.
Nothing close in the plastic fantastic market.
