Good evening ladies and gents,

Just got the Ruger Precision in 22lr about 2 weeks ago.
I would like to know if anybody that also owns one has similar result or has found the perfect round.
All mesurements are with 10 round with the MagnetoSpeed chronographe out of the original 20 inch barrel.
RANGE 75 METERS

CCI 40gr label at 1240fps = Average 1258 fps 1.56inc Grouping
CCI 36gr label at 1040fps = Average 1008fps 1.1inc grouping
Winchester Super X 36gr at 1240= Avrg 1255fps 1.4inc group
Blazer 40gr at 1260fps = Average 1251fps 2.3 inc grouping

Overall a little disapointed. If anybody got a good experience with a round please share as i do not wish to keep wasting money.

Much appreciate,

I dont own the RPRimfire but here is the stuff I use for my MKII I have great groups with these;

CCI subsonic
ELEY sport
Federl HV match

What kind of scope are you running? Are you groups tight with a couple flyers or are all your rounds spread out evenly? Those groupings seem a little big. I’m shooting my best groups with the CCI Sub out of a Savage MKII MDT and getting constant .4” @60yrds

If you can get sub moa at 100, buy as much of that ammo (with the same lot#)as you can afford. If it shoots the same at 25, 50 & 75, remortgage your house.

its not the gun so much as it is the ammo you shoot. The higher end stuff "usually" will shoot better but at a cost. It is not likely that you will find cheaper ammo that shoots as well but that does not mean it is impossible. It has happened where federal or CCI has shot lights out when compared to eley or lapua or w.h.y. 20 buck a box stuff. Ultimately though... if you find it, buy a lotto ticket on that day also.. Both are equally rare opportunities to win. Keep in mind tho.. that amazing sub moa ammo you bought to feed your cooey single shot may not shoot at all the same in your 5200.00 anshutz BR gun. etc.
