Any saving this cylinder?

just looking at how much the cylinder is beat up the hand must also be in rough shape if even there, no way could the cylinder rotate and time with each pull of the trigger, have you at least tried pulling the trigger and see if it rotates?

where are you located? can you post some pictures of the frame and hand? if you pull the hammer about 1/4 inch does it lock and pulling all the way back does it lock?

Seems like the seller is dodging me now sadly. politely asked if he'd make good on some of the repair costs as this damage was not disclosed.

Guess you can't trust everyone these day's.

Add said good shape single and double actions both worked, find that hard to believe in the condition the cylinder was.

Ouch, this is why you ask about the timing and lock up. Looks like they weren't lying about the single and double action hammer/trigger functioning, but they never mentioned anything about cylinder timing and lockup.

From those pictures I'm guessing the cylinder has a slope of up to half a centimeter.

Google the email, youll find instagram. Guy likes Jesus, birds and bodybuilding. Perhaps you can find another way to help track them down.

Not very honest for someone with a bible verse in their instagram profile

Sadly I did ask about it, and he said he shot it blah blah.. never mentioned it was beat to all sh!t.. life will go on, but it did come with the rcmp paperwork maybe that's a bonus

So I tore it down gave it a good soak in my ultrasonic tank. The hammer had some burrs as did the frame, I knocked them off and polished a few area's. the hammer as it sits now feels so much better.

I did hit the internal parts with some cold blue as well as the hammer and trigger.

I posted a few pics and those are the cylinders I picked up.

That is so cool: spare cylinders for a long-range .44 Bulldog.

Have you checked chambers and bore dimensions?

Cool indeed, and a great project, but not for everybody.

Hope it works out well for you.

Please keep us posted.

Are these both spares or is one of them the old one? The one with the numbers 3 and 6 on it does not seem to come from an Iver Johnson. IJ did not number their cylinders. It may be a bit of a challenge, but a good starting point. Good luck!

Both of those are sourced from numrich, I gave them the specs and they said they are very close. fingers crossed.
