OK.....so on a recent trip to Calgary i wander into Cabelas and low and behold they had a Glock 48 in stock. It fit my hand better than any other pistol i own. But at 700 and up it's getting a bit pricey for my wallet\wife to accept.

Is there anything similar but still that thin available that isn't so expensive? Canada legal of course.

It isn't the length of grip that bothers me, its the width and distance to trigger.

Glock 19 feels huge and is only 1.2 inches. That .2 inches makes a big difference.

1911 is nice but not that small.

p320 with small grip? Thoughts?

It's hard to beat a single stack for size but the thinnest double currently available has to be the SR9. IRG has them for $291 USD.

The grip on a G48 is 5” around, does anyone know what the SR9 grip is? Take the measurement about an inch below the trigger guard to compare apples to apples.

Unless we get numbers based on real measurements any talk of “size” will be purely subjective and not much use.

I don’t have a Tokarev to measure, but I remember mine being very slim, and the grip was shaped for a single stack mag.

If you find someone with a shadow and thin aluminum grips to fondle you might find what you're looking for as far as grip, you could likely watch the used market fr one that suits your budget. But my advice would really be that if you've fondled your fair share and keep going back to the 48 then I would hold off if you can and save up for what you really want and it will likely pay off in the end.

I have a 48, and if you have big mitts like I do - it’s a difficult pistol to shoot well.

Comparing the targets I’ve shot a magazine at with both the 17 & 21 is night and day from the 48. I’ve only taken it out 3 or so times since I bought it, so it may well tighten up over time. Granted these aren’t designed as precision guns, but nether are the 17 & 21, but that doesn’t stop me from shooting the 10 ring out at 10 yards...

i have a G48 and a SR9 but im just heading out for a week.
when i get back ill measure those up for ya side by side.

but if ya like the G48 OP then you'll like the SR9.
im the same as you, i find the G19 fat in the hand and the G48 feels much much better.
the SR9 is very similar in size but i don't think its as thin.

Hard to beat a TT33 for size if you want narrow frame with really small grip. Downside is the 7.62X25 packs a lot more perceived punch than 9mm.

But there’s plenty of norc 9mms Toks out there... I’ve got one I’ve been meaning to get on the EE but haven’t got around to it yet.

Just mesured a chinese Type 54, it's 7/8 of an inch wide on the metal parts. if you add the bakelite grips it go up to 1.1 inch.

Pretty thin for such a powerfull caliber.
