Not going to Danford Lake, but soon going to Stittsville. Was hoping to go today... :(

If you join at some point, we'D be three Gunnutz going!!! (now THAT'S impressive...)

Will join the danford lake next week at the meeting and will probably go down as soone has i get my paperwork done to bring my pistol down, but always in for a friendly rifle shoot.

Hello Luc,

I am definitely interested in going. I received the application papers to join the club have not as yet sent them. Frankly, I found them rather confusing.

A friend in Cantley is also desirous of joining and I will be seeing him on Tuesday. Neither of us are pistoleers but rifle shooters.:sniper:

If you would get back to me before Tuesday morning I would appreciate it. I am in west Ottawa, close to Carlingwood.

Danford Lake Meeting, Sat. Fev. 22 Time? Place?

Anyone out there know the meeting place and time on Saturday for the Danford Lake meeting?

Two of us intend to go, one from Ottawa, other from Cantley.

found some info on one of my file

the DANFORD LAKE gun club is having there annual meeting the 23 feb 2008 at hotel du voyageur. club registration 1100 until 1230 and meeting start at 1300.
 
yes its the right one. i should be there around 1130, see you there, i should not be hard to find i will have my gunnutz hat
 
Where can someone get more information about this club?

I live in Hull and I believe that the Danford Lake area would be more convenient for me than the EOHC.

Also, does it have both handguns and long guns shooting facilities?

PS I'm in the USA at the moment and won't be back until the 25th so I would not be able to attend the scheduled club meeting
 
Man, it's so hard to get any kind of info on Gun clubs in the Outaouais... Even the Fédération québecoise de tir doesn't have it listed...

According to google maps, there's a Danford Lake about 90 clicks north off the 105. Is that where the club's located?
 
the club location is in danford lake, you have to turn off in the kazabazua village, they have a rifle range, pistol range and a skeet range under construction.tha all the info i have so far.i visited the the club this summer but i only visited the rifle range.cerdan i have try to find a club in outaouais since i move here in july. not much choice around
 
Ouais, c'est ben c'que j'pensais, près de Kazabazua...

En tout cas, je sais qu'ya une poignée de Québecois qui viennent tirer au Centre RA, à Ottawa... Mais justement mon chum et moi on essayait de trouver des clubs de tirs extérieurs du côté de Gatineau. J'irai checker ça au printemps.

I said earlier that it wasn't listed on the Fédération québecoise de tir's website, but it is. You can find the address and contact info here -- http://www.fqtir.qc.ca/Clubs/outaouais.htm

And I don't know about more convenient, but it's a much longer drive than the EOHC (85km vs 46km)

I don't know about the distances but I know it takes me around an hour from home to drive to the EOHC. I drive by Kaz on a regular basis but can't recall exactly how long it takes me to drive it. Will check MAPQUEST to compare.

I find EOHC a super club but taking 2 hours of driving for a return trip means that I don't shoot as often as I should. I used to be a member for several years at the RA where I shot handguns and would go to Stittsville for long guns - pay as you go.

Checked MAPQUEST and you're right - 30.57 miles (48 min) to EOHC and 51.46 miles (1 hr 12 min) to Danford Lake (714, Route 301 Kazabazua) from my home

Annual Meeting Danford Lake Club

Moosetracker and I will be at the meeting on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Auberge du Voyageur in Gatineau where we hope to meet members of the club and pay up for our memberships.

Even for me, in west Ottawa, the EOHC was too far away and had no rifle range. Stittsville is closer but has too many conditions on time of range use. Also, the cost is not attrative.

Thus our interest in Danford Lake.

As for distance to Danford Lake, Kazabazua is roughly 80 km. north of the Ottawa River on hwy. 105. A word of caution to those of you who do not know this highway, it has some very dangerous sections and one must be on the lookout for deer 24/7/12, but I always find it a pleasant drive.
