Just curious to know if anyone has seen any sign of snow geese in the fields in Eastern Ontario yet? I haven't noticed any, but with the early Spring weather, they must be on the verge of showing up.

I was up at the farm north of lake Scugog in the Kawarthas today and there are massive Canada goose migrations happening. To my surprise, one flock flying overhead contained 5 snows. I couldn't believe my eyes. Snows out this way is a very rate occurrence. I’ve never seen it before. If I wasn't loaded up with lead target loads, I would have taken a poke at those snows

I just took a (short) drive East of Ottawa and did not see any geese at all in the fields, but I have 2 buddies checking their fields for me.

I spoke to a dairy farmer this morning in St-Albert. He saw one flock fly by on Monday. He said there was too much snow/ice in the fields and they didn't stop.
Cheers,

Saw two Canadas in a snow covered field near Cabelas in Ottawa this afternoon. Both looked really confused.

No snow pack this winter in southern sk, ab or most of the dakotas. That should hopefully give us an earlier season since the lesser snows follow the snow line as it recedes. There is nothing for snow until about 1.5-2 hours south of us. Canada's have been arriving in small flocks until this past weeks cold snap.

There were close to 400 Canada's in Lindsay this morning. Sky was littered with them. They were landing just beside HWY 7 west of 35 by the river.

Literally 5 min after I clicked this thread I heard the first bunch iv seen so far this spring just fly over, small group of 30-50 maybe? Right behind my house we usually get over 20-30 thousand birds land every spring when it floods near Casselman Ontario. Saw first handful of Canadas yesterday.
