With the spring season under way here in many parts of Canada, just wanted to see how everyone's season has started?!

We had a fantastic year last year with several 300 bird days, hoping for the same this year!

How many people do you need to have a 300 bird day? In BC I think the most you can take is 15 a day, so that would be like 20 guys all limiting out. (Its possible there are bigger limits in regions I don't hunt mind you...)

Never hunted them, but I want to! I've been wanting to get into waterfowl for a few years but I never find the time or people to go with...

I've only once got under them like that and limited out two days in a row here in BC.

My snow goose hunting is more about hiding on shore behind a stump on the flats waitng for the offshore flock to slowly work their way in on the tide and then take a shot at them when they are close enough. I got two like that last fall.

I have a field where I have permission, but they are almost always flying over to some other destination with no intention of landing near me.

I pluck them and save them for special occasion Sunday dinners. I have no idea what I would do with a share of a 300-bird day. That one year I did get a 15-bird limit two days in a row was more than a year's worth of goose meat for my wife and I.

6 shooters....here in AB we are 50 white geese per hunter with no possession limit. SK is 20 per hunter with no possession.
The OP lives in AB as do I and I'm on the AB/SK border so have the advantage of hunting both sides! Birds were just starting to migrate into our area Saturday as I was travelling the 16 hwy headed to work in BC. Should be into the thick of them by days off end of next week. Love the 14on/14off rotations when the seasons open and you hit the migration right!

Just received some jurky from my sausage guy. All from snows. Very good. We shoot about +-50 each fall, the guys from the US don’t like snows much (flying carp). Mostly mallard guys.

I would be happy to shoot one. Never can get close to them here anymore. Field beside the house always had geese for years and then they never returned again .

I see you have a clone decoy. I find those help and not blasting the e caller super loud. We started running full bodies in smaller number 80-100 and it has worked well. Defintely don’t run 2000 sock blobs like i used to. What do you run for a spread?

I've read about this magical snow goose hunts. Never been able to connect with anyone in eastern Ontario to participate.

Here in BC the season closed March 19th till this Fall.
Prolly around 1500 birds lurking about here in the Delta .
The weather may have delayed their migration to Wrangle Island and the breeding grounds.
Great hunt as shown in the pictures.

geese are starting to arrive on the local lakes and fields but the cold weather has sent them back south again LOL
The odd Canada is trying to make a go of it but most of the ducks and geese are hanging back it seems.
A huge flock of snows came over the lake really low the other day while I was out ice fishin. Must have been 80 to 100 birds circling the lake looking for some open water and finding none they turned back east the way they came. No season for them right now but cool to see after a long and hangin on winter none the less.

Gotta say I'm not really a snow goose hunting fan, but my 12 year old has just passed his hunter safety and I have 12 dozen snow sock decoys that have seen very little use sitting in the shop. Hmmm? Now you got me thinking. Could probably do a little population control.

With Canadas and specks in the picture, this must have been a fall hunt.
I just finished painting up 30 new snow silhouettes 1 made from a sheet of coroboard(sp).

Looking forward to the fall migration. Unfortunately it looks like my waterfowl hunting partner will be moving to the Okanagan/ Cariboo area this summer.
