Got a tip that a Canadian company may soon be getting (or recently received) a shipment of full stock sets for LE No1 MkIII.

Figured if anyone could shed some light on this it would be the Milsurp board. Any ideas?

That was probably marstar, I guess they sent a majority of their wood to the states and what they had for the domestic market sold out inside a month

Oh, nobody would have done anything like that. I was waiting for promised notification on price for 10 sets.... and I am still waiting.

I'm not very impressed, considering that the USA seems to have been awash in the stuff for a while.

Time to head to Windsor Plywood. They will supply straight-grain Walnut in 2-1/4 inch plank form on special order, sawn to measure, delivery time 2 weeks, at current fbm prices.

Interested as well......

Just picked up a Sporterized MKIII* off EE (full length barrel) , great shooter but the wood was falling apart so I replaced it with an ATI stock. Feels sad when the only decent stock I can get is a bubba poly stock.

no1 MK111 stock sets or components surface on eBay from time to time. Also seen here on EE however they sell immediately. I think more folks are restoring no1's than No4's. Anything that I've seen duplicated need hours of fit and finish whereas the original stuff doesn't.

Yea most people are restoring them because most common sporterized ones I've seen are the MKIII's, also I prefer the ramp sight to the one on the No4. I wouldn't mind doing some fitting work if I could get a new stock. It makes me wonder where the rangers get their replacements from.......

"...are the MKIII's..." They're also the ones that have the most troublesome headspace repair issues. The No. 1 bolt head doesn't have numbers like those on a No. 4. You need a handful of bolt heads to check with proper headspace guages until you find a bolt head that gives safe headspace.
Any No. 1 stock sets might be coming from India(most likely for the mid 60's Indian rifles and not a .303), but the likelihood of finding W.W. I vintage stocks are nil.

you can pick up some new old stock if you hunt ebay but the prices have increased 75% over the last year, there is no recouping costs now as a rebuilt no1 isnt worth the parts you built it with

If not a replicated wood stock set, then how about a synthetic "full wood" SMLE stock, say in OD or matt black?

Well if ATI and Ramline can make synthetic sporter stocks, I don't see why they couldn't make a full length military one. Come to think of it, they could also offer it in light brown or dark brown, too. Since the supply of SMLE stocks seems to have dried up, maybe there's a market for it... but I'm not the guy who's going to make it happen, sadly. My pockets aren't that deep and it ain't my field. :D

I have one of the ATI sporter stocks......and given the choice of that or a full length military one? def the military one. There would be a market for them here except ATI makes products for the murican market, and enfields are not as common there.
