Any Streamlight Racker Reviews?

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a Streamlight Racker and has any thoughts on it. Looks like an excellent option in a pump action light. Anyone mounted one to a Grizzly or Norinco clone?

I have not handled one mounted, but I have out of the box. IMNSHO it is the light for a dedicated shotgun light. Surefire USED to be the one, but finally Streamlight caught up and knocked it out the park for significantly less cash.

YMMV though

It's definitely a ton cheaper than Surefire pumps, though I found the Insight a lot bulkier than SF.
They're both comparable as for as durability, and battery life (if using LED models). Easy to install too, you just need a slide nut key to remove your old handguard.

I think I'll give one a go on my Norc 870.

It might take some dremeling and opening up.
My older Norinco HP9 has an oversized action bar assembly which required sanding the tube on any 870 forends I installed. A large wooden rod with sandpaper wrapped around it works the best.

Well designed with great ergonomics that don’t punish the support hand like the Surefire model, have been running one for several months and have had them out for agency T&E with great results.

Thanks for the heads up. I had to mod my Hogue fore end to fit so I'm expecting the same for the Streamlight.

That's encouraging to hear from someone with as much experience as yourself. Thank you!

It's a great light and forend. It sits flush instead of having a light extended from end of forend. I have not shot with it yet, but the light is very very bright. Good action switch on both sides. It's also cheaper. Got mine from Firearms Outlet Canada.

Received the Racker and installed it yesterday. Very impressed! I've got a 12" Norinco 870 clone and I was a little worried about modifying the forend to fit but to my surprise the Racker went on with zero issues. I had a Hogue forend on there previously and it definitely required some fitting. No so with the Racker. The design of the Racker has a split seam right down the middle of the interior part of the forend which allows the forend to easily fit/stretch over the oversized mag tube. It fits perfectly and is plenty snug. It's well built, very comfortable and secure in hand, easy to operate, and VERY bright for "only" being 200 lumens. I have a number of Acebeam and Fenix lights in the 200-300 lumen range that don't seem as bright as this. The forend does add a little weight to the front of the shotgun but I actually really like the balance.

Overall I am very happy with it. I haven't put any rounds through it yet but I will report back when I do. I highly recommend this setup.
