I have been thinking of adding a detachable magazine system to my rem 700 tactical build. I cannot decide to go with a drop in system like Wyatts drop in tactical or HS Presicion drop in if I could find who sells one.

The other way to go would be Badger or Stiller that would require some inletting on the stock.

Any suggestions?

I have Badger bottom metals in 2 differant Rem 700's that accept the AI mags. One is a 300WM the other a 6.5x47 Lapua. Any of the above mentioned that accept AI mags are good. One thing to think about though is if you are carying it on your back using a standard sling. I find when carrying either rifle while hunting that the mag bites into your back and can be very uncomfortable at times. This could be solved with a differant style sling I suppose. With the newest project I'm working on a Rem 700 in 7mm Rem Mag I have ordered a HS bottom metal so that it is a flush fit. Wolverine can get the HS systems in but be prepared for a wait as HS doesn't seem to be in any hurry to ship stuff to Canada.

BC Tactical made mine. They were great to work with. Excellent communication and fast delivery etc. Takes AICS magazines and works flawlessly. I had the stock inletted and installed myself. Total cost was if I remember right just under $ 270.00 for just thw bottom metal....magazines were purchased from Wolverine Supplies for less then a $ 100.00 or so a pop if memory serves me right. I have seen the ATR bottom metal and it is very very nice and they good to deal with as well. I believe the V-Bull model has some features that do make it superior....at one time there was a model available with a lock out pin that you could activate so you could not lose your mag if you were carrying it on your back or such. I have not lost a magazine and carry mine in the bush a lot. But I can see the utility of such a feature. Good Luck!
