Any suggestions on guns?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a handgun that would be appropriate for a woman who is interested in shooting PPC. I have tried shooting quite a few, thanks to the generous guys at the range, but am looking for something that isn't too heavy so as to not cause hand fatigue. I guess I need something with a smaller grip. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.
BTW, for all the people who replied back to me in December regarding a reloading bench, thank you. I did manage to build my boyfriend one. He loved it!!!

go for the walther unless you like plastic guns that blow up

Ohh, please...

I've brought young girls (university students) into ipsc, all had smallish hands, and the guns used include the Glock 17, the CZ-85C, and the Sig P226. For people on the small end of 'smallish', I'd suggest the Glock or the CZ in SA only (the DA pull on the CZ and the Sig might be too hard to reach, depending on finger length).

I have little experience with the P99, so I can't comment on that, other than the strange mag release needs to be tried first, to see if it will work for THAT PERSON!! Don't listen to other people who tell you it's fine (or it sucks) - it needs to be tried by the user herself: it is either great, or it blows, and you can't tell until you actually try it with your hand.

Congrats on getting into the 'scene' especially with all of your fine xx chromosomes! More women shooting is always a good thing. With regards to what to shoot, I'll also recommend a Glock.
Hey, have fun....and get some of your girlfriends to come along too.

Are you talking duty pistol or 1500 open? For the open get yourself a model 14 S&W if it's duty pistol I don't know, ask your instructor

If you want to learn to shoot at 50 yds or meters, use a S&W model 14 or 66, 6" barrel, adjustable sights and play with the grips to find what works for you.

Where are you located?

Glock 17 is likely the way to go, if you are looking for light weight and a smallish grip. But, perhaps a single stack 1911, with a short slide (like a para LTC or STI Ranger II) would be the way to go... slim grip, relatively light, and nicely balanced. I find that polymer pistols, with longer barrels often don't balance naturally in the hand, due to their muzzle-heavy construction.

I have a Walther P99, both me and my g/f love it!!
It's light, fits hand nicely, has adjustable backstrap(grip size)
Honestly, it's the most accurate gun i've shot since i started, about 3months ago, in all fairness the other guns were range guns, and i don't think they are always the best(their CZ75 shot low and 3inches to the left at 15m)
The only thing like mentioned is the mag release, and if you like that.
I'm fine with it, but others don't like it....

Well, since you are wanting a semi-auto, that rules out PPC and Distinguished Revolver. :) You can shoot Distinguished Semi, or IPSC with your auto. Then comes the 9mm thing. A 9mm might be light for IPSC but you can use it if not competing and just playing with the boys. :) Since you can shoot a .40 just fine, you should stick with that. Then again, if you wanted my opinion, you would have asked for it. ;)

Probably good thing you get some impartial advice. You're a better shot than me, so I would probably give you bad advice on purpose just so I would have a better chance at winning. :) Oh, and yes, thanks guys. I love the bench!! :D :D :D
