Just got in this m1867-89 Remington in 8x58R. Pretty good shape considering age, there is that round stock repair and some surface rust on the outside of the barrel. Otherwise pretty clean! Also got some bertram brass, gonna try it Friday hopefully.

Hopefully! Here's a size comparison of the brass, left to right 6.5x55, 7.5x54 MAS, 7.62x54R, and 8x58R Danish Krag

I'd love to have one of those. I have a Spanish rolling block here that's chambered in 43 Spanish. I've been working on ammo for it for about a year but have yet to get any decent accuracy out if it.

Sweet rifle you got there for sure. I'm sure it will be a blast to shoot.

Thanks! That's the big problem, finding (good) ammo, but at least most of it can be made from other cases (I lucked out and tradex had some bertram 8x58R, but at $5 each I'll probably try to form some!).

I did a quick read on those spanish rifles and it seems their bore diameters are all over the place (like a lot of rifles at the time) so finding bullets that fit properly is hard. I will be trying normal 8mm mauser .323 jacketed bullets in this rifle, hopefully they will shoot well.

Try paper patched lead bullets that are patched to the right groove size in the Spanish roller to help with the accuracy issue.
