Would like to know if they are any thompson smg related item collector here ?
Militaria item or police or prohibiton item related to the tommy gun .. ?

I just finished reading the book American Thunder which covers the Thompson in great detail.
Prior to reading it, I didnt appreciate the Tommy gun as much.
Now I find myself wishing I could collect them.

Tootall, a nice C&C dewat that is mostly disassemblable may be in order. I did this to fill my want of a Bren, and I'm very happy I did. I would do it again too. I find myself playing with the dewat as much as my live collectible rifles that I don't shoot, maybe more because I'm more fascinated with the mechanism.

Wow! I still have my Mattel Tommy Burst and a couple of my Barbies.
I have had them since the early 1960s. Time does fly when your having fun, hmmmm.
I do love my Thompsons and Barbies.

I might have one hanging around...

Yes,

Mine is a West Hurley. It appears I'm the 2nd owner, of a gun with serial number 1. It is the first 1928A3 in .22 LR imported into Canada. I think.

NS

I own a west hurley 1927. One day I want to change out the barrel for the 10.5
Got the barrel just havent had the time. Dont want to damage it.

Furniture is flat sided and I want to update the sight to a lyman.
The rifle really shouldnt be a prohib. More of a antique.

When I got my 1927A1, it came with a special-edition Canada-length barrel to make it non-restricted. Our government decided it still looked like a Thompson, so it prohibited it anyway. They applied the same logic to the .22 rimfire version.

I also have new 1928A1 barrel I'd like to install. I hope that doesn't make it any more prohibited. I haven't gotten around to unwrapping the 1928A1 barrel or unscrewing the 1927A1 barrel (I'm also afraid of damage) to compare the threads. Does anyone know if the barrels are interchangeable? It seems to me that when the 1927A1 was designed, the maker went to a lot of trouble to reassure the ATF that no full-auto Thompson parts would fit. I wonder if that included the barrel.
