I'm interested to know of anyone's experience with the NEA 10/22 chassis and bull barrels. I think they have a 9" and a 12" x .910". I know they're into AR15s these days, but what about their 10/22 products? Are they decent performers?

I have a 9" bull barrel on a current work in progress.

Good consistent parkerized finish, fits nice and snug in the reciever.

Cant say about how accurate it is.

Like I said, this 10/22 build is still in progress.

Ive got an NEA-22 chassis with a barrelled action in it and so far Im impressed. The 2 halves fit together very precisely and the action dropped right in and fits great. Ill probably do a little review and build thread once I get going on it. I havent bought alot of NEA products yet but what I have got from them has been good quality and customer service has been excellent.

I've got one of the 12" barrels. Function has been 100% and it fit nicely in the receiver. I just shoot cheap bulk ammo so I can't comment on accuracy.

With that shorty barrel, is it considered restricted? Sorry for my ignorance, I just forget if there's a OAL requirement for rimfire non-restricted rifles.

OAL is the only factor with res/non-res rimfires. Barrel length doesn't matter.

That rifle is well over the minimum OAL.

Are the barrels Bentz chambered? How tight are they, can I run CCI .22LRs in them without having the bolt not fully close and blast shrapnel out through the side?

I'm sure NEA makes quality parts, but after some research into there 10/22 chassis I couldn't pull the trigger on it. I just don't like any design that involves removing the rail screws on top of the receiver each time you want to break the carbine down to clean it. After awhile, I can see the soft aluminum threads start to wear out until you need to buy another 10/22 from Ruger just to get another receiver for your Chassis. The Troy T-22 avoids this, and looks much better in terms of durability and ease of take-down. Although for about $400, I just went with a Tapco stock instead.
