Any thoughts on Thompson Center Rifles?

I am kind of interested in the Thompson Center Pro Hunter rifle. Seems like a neat concept, to just buy different barrels for different calibers. Are these rifles well built? Are they accurate? I never see any mention of them here and was wondering has anyone used one? If so, what did you think of it?

Ive thought about trying one for about six years now, but never have taken the plunge. Same with Marlin lever guns :D

Too bad we cant get the custom Encore barrels in Canada without hassle like they have in the US. that'd make it alot more attractive

I've also been tinkering with the idea of picking of these up. Handle one and you will see that they are VERY well made and light weight. Make a good carrying rifle.

I have had one for years ... just traded up to the Pro hunter. I have had various barrels, 300WM, 243, 25-06, ,50cal M/L an they all shot very good indeed.
They have awesome triggers and the quality is generally very good, although I am unimpressed with having to build a scope mount up for my Rifled shotgun barrel on the new Pro Hunter If you use a weaver base the barrel profle is wrong for these mounts on both the shotgun and Muzzle loaders in the Pro hunter. I am certain that they will rectify this with a mount of their own design soon enough.
The 28 inch barrels available on the Pro Hunter make it unique and the fastest and most accurate factory Muzzle Loader made today. I will let you know how the .204 ruger shoots if and when they ever deliver it. Like Bartell says just getting the Thompson stuff is problematic in Canada.
We now have an importer in my area so it is getting a little better.
