I have found one at a local gunshop ... doesn't have a mag. tho.

I tried a search on here but it keeps omitting the VZ part of my search ... I obviously wind up with no results in that case.

Just looking for info on it. It's in great condition and I would love to buy it but i need more info before I do.

I believe the VZ52/57 commonly comes in 7.62 X 39, with a folding bayonet.

It was if memory serves me a light battle rifle manufactured in the Czech Republic. It's a non-restricted firearm, very accurate, but a bit heavy to carry.

If it's in good condition it's probably worth between $200 - $250. The clip may be hard to source but I would check with Wolverine Supplies in Manitoba.

What else did you want to know?

I'm actually preparing a complete "How-To" in VZ-52/57 takedown and cleaning series.
This shouldn't take me much more time now, most of the pics are done and processed.
I still have to download them on Photobucket then all that will remain is the accompanying text to type.
Check from time to time.

These rifles are commonly seen around $550 or so, but that is with a magazine. Not sure how hard a mag would be to source.

I've owned a like new one before, they are very attractive and well made rifles.

A CGN member is selling one for $700.00+ with FOUR mags!
Maybe he could be kind enough to sell you one? Historically, Czech troops were issued one mag only, with ammo loaded on 5-shot stripper clips.
Good luck!

That price is outrageous. I purchased one for $99 in great condition in 1993. Surely dealers have not inflated the price since then by seven times?

If I thought it would appreciate so much I would never have sold it.
